Sacred images
On a wall in the bedroom of my house stands a picture depicting Christ praying in the Garden of Olives. That image is what my wife and I just open our eyes we see the morning.
few weeks ago, I caught a hint of St JosemarÃa: I hung a crucifix in my office, in front of the desk. I can see it just looked up from the papers, when I talk with colleagues, when they are on the phone. In other words, Christ is now "visible" even the workplace.
All this to say that the Catholic practice of depicting Our Lord, Mary and the saints, in addition to - of course - a biblical foundation, is of great practical importance: the sacred images help to continually raise our thoughts to God ... even and especially in places where a Christian plays a large part of his ordinary life.
